Poetry, again.
I hate to love you.
I hate to be loved by you.
I hate to hate you.
I hate to be hated by you.
All that we knew,
It and we were one—fused.
Now all that I am is still you,
but only your shadow remains.
I hate you and I don’t want you,
but you linger on my heart
like a cattle iron.
I want to peel you off like a band-aid,
but you’re more like a scab,
leaving an open wound.
I got rid of all that reminds me of you,
but I am you.
Am I to get rid of me too?
I can see my future;
I can see beyond this.
But, like a paddle ball,
as far as I can reach;
I bounce back to you
with a smack to the face.
---------------
Clever, these honeys,
tempting you like the sweetest chocolate.
tempting you like the sweetest chocolate.
Silly, you dummy,
what makes you bite at their hooks?
what makes you bite at their hooks?
Lovin’ I gave you,
but still you swooned at their looks.
but still you swooned at their looks.
I thought you were funny.
Well, I really did think you were sweet.
Well, I really did think you were sweet.
But the lady; she's funny.
She keeps pulling the rug from my feet.
She keeps pulling the rug from my feet.
Killing me honey:
your poison, sure it is sweet.
your poison, sure it is sweet.
Several paces ago
I fantasized our fate.
Now I see it ain't so.
Your mind was, simply just bait.
Dangled your sweets in my face,
just to taunt love's disgrace.
I fantasized our fate.
Now I see it ain't so.
Your mind was, simply just bait.
Dangled your sweets in my face,
just to taunt love's disgrace.
Loving you was poison to my soul.
Kissing you was nicotine drips.
Several dips,
then I'd forget.
Kissing you was nicotine drips.
Several dips,
then I'd forget.
Loving you is poison to my soul.
